bowled over

We had the great pleasure yesterday of getting to help neighbor Joey celebrate his 5th birthday.  he and his parents had been going bowling on Friday evenings somewhat regularly so Joey requested a bowling birthday party.  It was lots of fun for the kids and adults alike and Ben even chose "need to play more bowling," over cake and ice cream when it was served.
Between the bumpers and these uber-handy metal ramps, bowling can really be fun for all ages.  Ben was able to carry the ball on his own to the ramp and tried both the ramp and going it on his own.  It was also a great lesson in turn-taking and patience building and many of the kids were quickly bored and moved on to other activities.  This alley had a great party room with air hockey and big tables and the alley also provided all the party food.
I've never been a big fan of bowling due to the multiple germ factors but Ryan has always loved it and is a great bowler so we'll surely try it again soon.

  3. I'm so happy he loved it. We just went for the first time last weekend, also for a birthday party. The kids will definitely be requesting repeat visits. :)
