get to the point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.......that's what I woke up begging of the universe today.  "please, please get to the point already and just let us know where we are destined to settle!  I've had enough slow painful guidance and do fear I'm reaching my breaking point."  

Certainly no one ever said moving is fun and I say and hear all the "blah blah blah you'll look back on this time and be so glad or it will be a small memory."

Oh poor confused readers.  Let me fill you in.  My hint several posts ago about settling in to a more regular routine soon was driven by the fact that we were under contract on a house, through inspection and just waiting for the appraisal.  We were to close and take possession in less than two weeks, on July 2nd. Yesterday morning we got the results of our appraisal and the bottom dropped out of our lives.  We thought the appraisal might be tight but it came in far too low for our lenders and now our deal is 98% surely over.  The area we were purchasing in is so small that there hadn't been good comparables in over a year.  While comps used were semi-close, they did not reflect the age of the homes on our tree-lined charming street.  Even the appraiser admitted the poor comps and stated this had been his most challenging appraisal in 30 years.  Thanks to poor lending practices that got our country into the economic mess it's in today, our hands are tied and there are no solutions for a unique situation like ours.  There is a smidgen of hope for one potential solution but it is an unlikely one.  So, we will get back on our horse and begin our search again.  Sadly, we will likely not get to live in this area as there are so few homes to begin with and fewer for sale.

 Ben and I will fly to Wichita next week for a shorter than planned visit while the movers pack and load our items and move them to storage here in Denver. 

Not only had I decorated our new home in my head, picked paint colors, and started a home-renovation blog, but we had taken family pics on the new porch for our moving announcement:(.  It was a good reminder that no deal is over until the ink is dry.  However, as we are so glad we did with Ben (thanks T), sometimes you have to let yourself enjoy the process.  If there is disappointment in the end it will be no greater than if you hadn't enjoyed the journey.
