a surprising first

Today we headed to the Rockies Game with the Lineberry's to hear Grace and Sara sing before the game.  As is a common theme, this Spring, rain delayed our day. And delayed, and delayed, and delayed.  Ben was an absolute champ, hanging out for nearly four hours before the girls finally sang as the sky opened yet again.  We gave in and headed out for an early dinner as soon as the performance was done.

If we'd known just how delayed we'd be, we have pre-gamed LOTS longer.

The surprising and delightful first of this day was Ben and this umbrella.  We realized this was his first time using an umbrella for actual rain outside of the house.  While he's played with golf umbrellas in the house a time or two, he made it 4.5 years without using an umbrella for it's original and intended purpose.  He has been blessed with some great rain coats and we haven't lived in very rainy places but we were still surprised at the realization 

and took plenty of pics to commemorate the occasion. :)
