Unanswered Prayers

Music was a HUGE part of my childhood experience and though very little country crept in, Garth Brooks was a part of my musical influence.  It's therefore hard for me to type, write, or say the title of this post without breaking into song.
When Ryan and I first began our house-hunting journey in Wichita we made an offer on a house close to ours that turned out to already have a contingency on it.  Wouldn't you know that the people with the contingency came through and bought the house-after more than a month and less than 15 minutes before our offer would force their contingency to expire.  I remember falling asleep that night and thinking, "it's not over yet," and when we got that call near midnight, it was all over.......for us.
That house was on a lake lot and to say we were devastated would have been an understatement.  A factor in choosing our current home, among others, was that we both got the "bonus" we wanted.  I got a neighborhood pool less than a block away and Ryan got a 3 car garage.  I could not be more happy with where we ended up. Ok, Ok, a little less oak would have been nice, but there's less left every day.  Ryan gets to build his woodshop tool inventory and spend his free time improving our home and building me handy and beautiful things.  I couldn't ask for a better hobby for a husband.
And the best part of all about that first house falling through is that our little fish can swim to his heart's content all summer long.  I have our pre-swim routine down to under twenty minutes and nothing wears out our little monster like some quality pool time.  In attempt to save his skin, and mine, I'm going to try to stick to MWF as pool days, Thursday as library storytime day, and Tuesday as come what may day :).

Ben threw his first official tantrum right before the pics below were taken.  We came home from swimming last week for a bath and he WAS NOT ready to get out of the tub.  I hope my reaction taught him that tantrums don't work with this Mama but I'm also certain that battle is not won.
