On the Move

Spoiler alert!!  I am foraying a bit into "development" here, which I previously vowed to save until after Monday's well-baby Dr. visit.  You've been warned!  No, there is no crawling, but Ben HAS discovered the world beyond the family room.  Last weekend he rolled all the way from the family room to the kitchen stove and now no part of the main floor is off limits.  He gets very proud of himself when he gets to undiscovered country and looks around and then beams back at me or Ryan as if to say, "this is new, huh?  and I got here all on my own."  He is very creative about what I describe as eighty point turning and aligning his body at the next intended target for a quick roll.  

I am confident his initial motivation to move beyond the carpet was Anna.  He would see her laying there in the eating space and try to get to her.  Now he squeals with delight as he approaches her and forces her to get up and move, thus defining his next target.  Poor Anna must be thinking, "really, 11.5 years of love and loyalty for this??"  Poor pups!, if only they knew what's ahead for them!  I do think the continuing increase of food and puffs on the floor more than makes up for the inconvenience of staying the heck out of the way of the little rolling monster.

Ok, I promise that's the last spoiler before Monday and almost surely the last post as we have a busy weekend of going-away parties ahead.

"Wow, that's a lot of dog hair.  I know Mom just vacuumed yesterday."
