We arrived in Breckenridge late-afternoon Saturday after a stop at The Lost Cajun for lunch in Frisco. Summer travel on 1-70 is lots like ski-travel due to construction, and we were warned to avoid our route at the time we took it but were only delayed by about 40 minutes, which made for a perfect Ben nap time.

dogs at nearly every table!!
Ben's first beignet
We spent some time in town and riding the gondola and had a delicious dinner at the Kenosha steakhouse.
MeeMee upgraded to a 2-bedroom since we were there last and the extra space was amazing. Ryan and I had our own room and Ben had a quiet living room with a comfy pull-out all to himself.
Ryan relaxed more than he has in years as we didn't make it up last year. It was great to see him really relax and engage so completely with Ben. I think it's true with most dads, but they really bond so much as kids grow and can do more and it warms a mama heart to witness it.
We already have next year's visit on the books and will make a better deal with mother nature over the next 12 months with hopes of enjoying more of the beautiful outdoors that Breck offers.
HUGE thanks to MeeMee for making this trip and travel together a priority for herself and our family!
We attempted some last minute (totally unplanned) family pics before heading to dinner.....
prom pose with our matching Hunters
I swear we combed his hair!
this crew could have a whole book of #failedfamilyfotos
pool time.....
Ben quickly started doing the waterslide on his own.
Waiting his turn took some teaching.
love on the gondola
s'mores time!
this kid LOVED hiking!
that time the sun came out and we cancelled our theater reservation
snow left on peak 8
I thought this neat old truck looked nice with his eyes.
He quickly found the mirror and repeated, "whatchyou lookin' at?" through giggles.
our home is the one on the left
blue-sky good-bye

I'm not sure your family could get any more cute. The kissies, the matching sissy pose, the water, the hiking, the kid and all those firsts...just so. darn. cute! Your mom does seem to be the queen of finding sweet-a$$ places to vacation. :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, that s'mores picture makes my whole life worth living. :) Glad you guys had a good time!
ReplyDeleteShut it. I can't take anymore! Breck! Ha.. Just keep rubbin' it in! ;)
