My dad rented a house in Scottsdale for five days and we had two short days of driving on both sides.
We hit up some favorite spots including In and Out burger (Ben's third trip there but first eating it), AJ's grocery (an even more expensive Whole Foods) and Trader Joe's. We spent a day at the Phoenix zoo, and Ben had his first Ruth's Chris experience thanks to the iPad and sitting outside.
We also visited the town of Fountain Hills where my grandparents lived and visited their grave site, along with my Aunt Mary Kay's, and brightened them up with some fresh spring flowers.
On the trip home through Albuquerque we met my cousin Kasey for dinner along with her boyfriend Kye. We went to the very large restaurant that is also home to El Pinto salsa and is an Albuquerque institution. It was my first time meeting Kye and he was absolutely delightful. Both he and Kasey will start masters programs at NAU in Flagstaff in the fall.
Ben's favorite parts of the trip were no surprise to this mama. Our house was full of ceiling fans and very close to the large and very nice neighborhood pool. Ben was in heaven swimming, fan stalking and playing in the shaded, warm, rock-filled and cactus-free back patio area.
Traveling with two dogs and a potty-training two year old came with challenges but they all made fun memories. Ben adored pups Bill and Boomer and by the end of the week, they just might have adored him too.
on one walk we encountered the sprinklers on in the common area :)
at the Fountain Hills playground
Have stackers, Will travel
They entertained him as much as usual and he loved getting to sit outside and play with them.
This random pit was his second favorite part of the zoo....after the rocks.
This beautiful mission is in the center of Old Town Albuquerque

Sounds like a delightful trip! Love the sprinkler shots. :)
