Just like that, another school year in the books!
Off we went for a little program and last celebration with friends.
They sang several lovely songs (which Ben sang before and after at home but not much at school.)
Ben was the designated sign holder and showed the fronts to the crowd a couple times.;)
Juice and cupcakes at 9:30 am was the teacher's final gift to the parents to get Summer started on a sugar-high note.
Until next year, wonderful school!!
I had a little "Welcome to Summer," gift ready when we got home.
The slip and slide wasn't quite as successful as I'd hoped for my fishy dare-devil. I'm looking forward to a fun-filled, easy-going Summer with lots of "yes," on my part
and lots of big-boy helpfulness on Ben's.
*This year at school was absolutely challenging as a parent, but mostly fun for Ben. I'm really in love with his school and the community but this year some parts were just not a good match. I'm overwhelmingly relieved by and confident in our decision to delay Kindergarten. I look very forward to a brand-new (to his school) teacher next year and a fresh head of special ed as well. I'm already working on tips and dialogue to help start next year destined for success and with tools to help both Ben and his teachers have a great and successful learning adventure.
Brand new teacher? And head of SE? Awesome! You (and Meemee and Ryan) went to bat SO hard for the Nugget this year. As awful as it was, I hope you're all proud of your efforts. The Nugget will appreciate them one day :)
ReplyDeleteFor the longest time the last post I saw on my blog roll was "missing Airedale". What a treat to see so many updates on the Heimer blog!!! Love the end of school year gift idea- filing that idea away for several years down the road!
