Breaking Him

"Yay! You're breaking him," was a friend's recent response to the diminishing time it was taking to get Ben to stay in his big boy bed.  This friend did grow up on a farm and I did immediately think of a bucking bronco- which Ben often acts like, so, despite her questioning her choice of words, it worked for me. :)
Ben did pick up a little something that required a fever to fight (after only one day back to preschool since spring break,) so I'm hesitant to say we've broken him.  I will say we're making great progress though!! Last night and todays nap included NO escape attempts and the few before that were beyond bearable.  I hope the fun in the game for him is wearing thin and though I know it will likely be fun again from time to time, I pray the novelty is indeed gone.
This whole turn of events has dramatically changed the plans in my mind for how next week's trip with my Dad might play out but there are 3 bedrooms in the house we are renting so we will keep calm and put the kid back in bed. :)
Speaking of a trip, I will likely be away from the blog for a little more than a week as blogger is sadly nowhere near mobile friendly.  I can blog from the iPad but it will not let me upload photos and what good is a Ben blog without pics of the handsome bloke???
The FINAL snow is melting in D-town and we're off to soak up some sun in the desert.  Ben begged for his fleece footie jammies for nap today so I think we're all in need of a warm-up.
Happy Week to you all Dear Readers!

  2. Well, I'm not sure I wanted to make the blog with THAT quote. :/ However, I am glad you are seeing continued progress and wishing you the same during your travels. That last photo is PRESH!
