Anyway, mother nature cooperated beautifully and the weather COULD NOT have been more gorgeous. I kept the invites to only family in case we were forced by weather to stay inside. Ben and Ian had tons of fun and we all delighted in watching them play. We got out the parachute that Ben had gotten for Christmas from the TSs and the whole family got in on the playing.
I made a new drink called a pomchi splash that was a perfect welcome spring adult beverage and that along with a well-stocked bar and delicious brunch that everyone contributed to made for hours of relaxation and enjoyment.
The boys had and egg hunt and poor Ben found an egg in a tree and then tried to put all the other eggs he found back in the tree. The only egg he cared about keeping was an old tennis ball he found. :) Ian had his technique down from a hunt with his other cousins and had to restrain himself so Ben could find some. :)
Easter in CO can be tricky with the weather but I'd happily make this a tradition. There will be some menu changes if we do it again next year and now we know we can get away with only 2 butter braids as I sent an entire one to Ryan's work the next day. All of us at the Heimer Haus hope your Easter was delightful and blessed, too!
The Easter Bunny hid Ben's basket in the guest bath shower.
He grabbed the fruit snacks and left the rest. :) That was the closest thing to candy he got and as they are usually reserved for air travel, they are a pretty special treat to him.
Ben LOVES the dive rings at swimming lessons.
I got to use new gifts of this table runner and linen napkins on my Easter table and was in hostess heaven.
I'm starting him right with the correct team ball. ;)

Aunt Christy trying to get him to keep the egg rather than throw it back in the tree.
No! NO Kissies!
Ok, Fine!
I love this pic of Christy and her Dad that Tante captured.
These are all so cute - thanks for hosting such a fun family gathering!
