FEVER!!

We interrupt the previously scheduled vacation re-cap to bring you this breaking news......Poor Nugget has his first fever :(.  
He woke up from his nap yesterday burning up to 101.8! He was lethargic and cranky but was happy with a bath and actually ate fine.

Today was a different story.  He has hardly stopped crying all day and refused breakfast and lunch.  This is NOT normal Nugget behavior.  I did get an extra bottle in him so he is at least getting liquids and some nutrition.  Friend Angela stopped by to drop some things off and what a welcome break that was!! I think Ben was entertained by a different face and focusing on something besides Ben's crying for five minutes was amazingly refreshing.  

Shortly after Angela left I discovered.......a tooth! One of his upper canines is broken through and the other side is not far behind.  Current medical wisdom strongly states that teething does not cause fever, but if it's not the culprit, it's certainly not making things easier.  

I did call the nurse this morning after he refused to eat and she said they need to have a fever above 100.4 for 3 days in a row before they want to see them.  So tylenol and liquids and love is all we can do and is all I have to give.  I would happily rock my little monkey all day but even that doesn't stop his crying.  He is thankfully sleeping now.  Was sleeping!! Did I mention we are having 4 windows and our sliding door replaced and there is pounding and sawing and talking, oh my! 

So, I ask you, dear readers, for your prayers, thoughts, extra karma points.....whatever you believe in and are willing to offer in the hopes we get through the next few days of noise and well, noise.
