After months of this......
........tempting me,
I
finally got to enjoy my Christmas gift from Ryan this weekend. Of
course I held out hope the Tarheels might end up playing here, but there
was still some great basketball to be watched. Dave also received
tickets for Christmas, so he and Christy joined us, along with Dave's
parents and Ian and Luke (for just a little while). On Thursday we
watched Iowa State beat Iona and most of Purdue vs. Little Rock before
deciding to sneak away for some dinner. Little did we know that the
game would go into double overtime with Arkansas Little Rock puling out
the upset. Rain and snow made getting around outside the game a little unpleasant but we got back for the two evening games with Papa Jim joining us. Gonzaga against Seton Hall was the game I was most excited for and Utah against Fresno State finished the night. We didn't dare leave before the end so as not to miss another epic March Madness finish.
The train home was PACKED and RTD has some work to do in adding trains for big events.
Huge thanks to Cole and Amy for watching Ben all day and night!! Just days before these games, we'd decided to book a last minute tag-along Spring Break with Ryan to Florida. So, I ended up selling our Saturday tickets for a nice profit and we got to bed at a decent hour for our early Sunday departure.
:(
All NCAA basketball tourney games are dry :( so we had done some catching up at dinner. :)
We learned a lot about the process in buying these tickets and definitely have some do's an don'ts tucked away for next time the madness comes to Denver.
I was so surprised at Christmas and having something so fun to look forward to for so long made it a fantastic gift. I can hardly wait for the rest of THE madness!!
DRY?!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I see the "catching up" in your smile. :) Such a great gift, Ryan!
