Wine and flowers pretty much sum up our friendship.
After a couple failed attempts to connect since we moved, we finally had the Arnold's, our dear neighbors from Josephine St., over for dinner on Saturday. We enjoyed grilled salmon and roasted veggies and the boys had fun playing. I rudely watched some Tar Heel basketball which gave way to Joey being glued to the Avs game as soon as b-ball ended. His attention for hockey and the players was pretty darling for a six year old.
It was so great to see them and the only down-side was that we couldn't keep drinking and watch them stumble home next door. We might need some Uber involved dates in our future. ;)
beautiful veggies
While they were here, Kelly propositioned me to help her with some data entry for her legal consulting business. "Working" again has been interesting and while some things certainly don't get done, it's nice to bring in a little extra money. I'm usually able to work for an hour or two before the boys get up and also get some time in while Ben is at school. Kelly has a lot of work right now and that might not continue, so I'm taking advantage while I can.
Seeing our old friends was so great and I hope now that we are settled, that it will happen more often. Ben adores Joey and really looks up to him. Seeing them was also a great reminder of the friendship possibilities that await us in our new hood.
Joey is FINALLY taller ;)
Hosting with more space is SO nice! :) Those veggies are so pretty!
