so fresh and so clean

Today Ben had a standard dentist appointment with very high marks for brushing.  They put the "pink stuff" on to test our pre-appointment morning brushing and we passed with flying colors.  But, this day was not really standard! Today was Ben's first full, lay-back and put the glasses on, polish every tooth, dental cleaning.  It was lost on the hygenist that this was his first full kit and kaboodle as she asked once or twice, "does he ever sit still?"  Meanwhile I'm sitting in the corner so excited with each passing moment that I just want to scream and explode with joy.  I explained that this was the first time they had attempted the full cleaning and that he was doing VERY well.  He had a little less patience for the actual dentist this time as he had been sitting quite patiently for quite a while.  She shrugged off my thoughts that his 6 year molars were beginning to break through, though the hygenist had already confirmed it.  I just giggled inside and thought, "yep, in 6 months when you're cleaning two more teeth, you'll believe us."

I was so surprised by and proud of Ben today.  They've been adding more and more to each appointment since he started going when he was 2 but if I'd known they were going to go for the gold today I might have been prepping him for weeks.  I think the smile on his face as I showered him with kisses and pride showed he understood what a great job he'd done. :)
